Beer of the Weekend #631: Sawtooth Ale

The beer tonight is Sawtooth Ale, brewed by the Left Hand Brewing Company of Longmont, Colorado.

Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. The “BEST BY” date printed on the shoulder is “01/02/15.”

Appearance: The beer pours a medium, rusty amber into a pint glass. A finger of buttery, eggshell-colored head dissipates slowly and leaves an even skim with a few bubbles and a ring around the edge.

Smell: Well balanced with a sweet backbone and a nice hop presence. The aroma is a little weak but it is there. Light toasted malt, caramel, earthy hops, sweetness, and a little fruit.

Taste: Full and smooth mouthfeel. It is also very bready. Toasted malt, caramel, sweetness, a little cocoa, and earthy hops.

Drinkability: Solid and tasty stuff. Very drinkable.
