Sasha and Pete Tong, 'Essential Mix @ Bondi Beach 2000.12.31'

I feel the need to post something so thought I would post this massive New Years Eve Essential Mix I stumbled across this week.

The first couple minutes, I will admit, are pretty corny: a New Years countdown (two, it seems) is followed by fireworks and Richard Strauss’ “Also sprach Zarathustra,” the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey, which is so cheesy (albeit fitting) it induces goosebumps. After that, though, the mix is bangin’, and even features tracks included on my all-time favorite DJ mix album, Sasha & John Digweed’s Communicate. Sasha’s set grows more and more hypnotic, and Pete Tong keeps the beats coming, though the sound quality unfortunately deteriorates just before the 1:19:00 mark.
