The Novel Diary: Week 18

Word counts: 1,860 (Chapter 4); 25,602 (total).

Novel-wise, I have not written a single word in almost two weeks. My LV project should be wrapping up Wednesday, so I plan to return to the novel Sunday. I have been a bad boy, but for a good reason. However, I suppose I could man-up and write a little more than I do…but I’m just too lazy.

So it’s another Monday night and I am once again distracted beyond hope of getting my beauty sleep. At least for another 39 minutes. I am watching Jason X, which I have never seen before.

Back when it was first released, my friends went to see it in the theater. I didn’t go for whatever reason — probably because horror movies are not my thing. Anyway, here’s the story: at the end, when one of the characters comes out of nowhere to save the day, my friend Clintoris yelled, “That was the gayest shit I have ever seen!” The whole theater erupted in laughter, and now I know why.

Jason X is awful. I have no clue how this movie did not go straight to video. The production and acting are levels below high quality Cinemax porn. I recommend seeing it just for the shittiness. Also: it seems to me the late-nineties/early-naughties was a time when Hollywood was trying to perfect the formula for modern, mass produced action movies. Movies like Blade II (which is pretty good), The Fast and the Furious, and even Jason X all have the same construction. To a point, at least. Or maybe I think that because I actually went to movies back then.
