The beer tonight is Snow & Tell, brewed by the Bouelvard Brewing Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
The color is light, ruddy brown. Two fingers of tan head leaves a skim and small collar around the edge. The aroma is toasty and tinged with oak. It is nutty, too, and there is a nice presence of dark fruit. Caramel is noticeable as well, and there is subtle festive spice (cinnamon and ginger?). The flavor mostly mirrors the aroma, though the festive spice is much more prominent than the aroma leads on. Overall, the flavor is a little thin. The oak aging is much more noticeable as well, though it is not overpowering. The aftertaste is a little medicinal; it tastes kind of like a Band-Aid at times. There are flavors of caramel, toasted malt, oak, dark fruit, cinnamon, and maybe ginger.
