Beer of the Weekend #504: O'Fallon Pumpkin Beer

I want to try one last pumpkin beer before writing my LV recommendation: Pumpkin Beer, brewed by the O’Fallon Brewery of O’Fallon, Missouri.

Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. No freshness date.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is medium amber. A finger of eggshell-colored head dissipated quickly leaving a skim and ring around the edge.

Smell: Spicy pumpkin pie. Cinnamon and nutmeg are quite strong and are well-balanced by the real pumpkin. There is a little ginger, too, and the cloves emerge late and eventually being to dominate.

Taste: Pumpkin pie! Though it is somewhat bland at first, the flavors eventually come on strong and leaves a lasting aftertaste. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and pumpkin.

Drinkability: Pretty good stuff. I like pumpkin ales to be similar to pumpkin pie, and this is very similar.

Fun facts about Pumpkin Beer:
