The Gems of Sharpless: July 25, 2012

Sharpless is not air conditioned, so gem browsing was mighty toasty in the 108º heat today. The Sharpless crew, though, have many fans to keep the air circulating through the buildings, which does help a lot.

Anyway, I was not too impressed with the selection today but found these little goodies — some of which will be accompanied by captions.

This man was truly well-read.

A box full of old beer cans. I have to say, though, that the cans are in very good shape — very clean and straight — for Sharpless. Many old school beer cans are rusted or dented.

Yep — South Africa surely was a land of contrast in the fifties. What an awful way to sugarcoat it.

When I say that it scares me to think about all the stuff people have, I mean it.

This vending machine caught my attention just because it was a vending machine. However, upon further inspection…

…I realized it was customized for vending beer. Notice how two buttons are reserved for Busch Light. That’s classy — CMT-style.
