Beer of the Weekend #1,017: Wolf Shirt

It has been a long week of moving. I am exhausted mentally and physically—and we still have a few more days of moving stuff. I need a few beers.

The beer of the weekend, the first at my new digs, is Wolf Shirt, brewed by the Lion Bridge Brewing Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Wolf Shirt

I think we’ll need to work on the lighting or staging area a little bit.

Serving type: 12-ounce can. “03/20/2023” is printed on the bottom of the can.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is light for a hazy, I think: medium to deep gold. About a finger of off-white, buttery, bubble-spotted had leaves a short trail of foam stuck to the glass.

Smell: Citrusy and tropical goodness. It portends haziness with orange, grapefruit, mango, and a touch of peach.

Taste: It is tasty, but the flavors are a muted melange. Nothing stands out, really. It is not bitter, but it imparts a general citrus/tropical/pit fruit character.

Fun facts about Wolf Shirt:

• Style: Hazy IPA.

• Price: Unsure. It was part of my spring 12-pack.

• Alcohol content: 7.2 percent ABV.

• The beer’s description on the Lion Bridge website is, “This beer is not a shirt. But wolf shirts are awesome. This beer is awesome.”

The Quiet Man’s grade: B.
