Beer of the Weekend #1,153: River Haze
The beer of the weekend last weekend was the last from my small haul from Dauphin Island: River Haze, brewed by the Cahaba Brewing Company of Birmingham, Alabama.

Serving type: 12-ounce can. “CANNED ON 11/17/25 14:36 JUMP IN!” is printed on the bottom.
Appearance: Poured into my Number One Pint Glass. The color was hazy light amber. A dense, fluffy, bubbly, buttery, off-white head settled slowly.
Smell: Juicy! Grapefruit, orange, pineapple. It was a touch green. The Foxy Lady said she smelled some kind of stone fruit, probably peach. There are citrusy hops and it portended bitterness.
Taste: Smooth, creamy, and very tasty. Creamsicle-like with citrus. Grapefruit, orange, pineapple, and peach. It had a nice hop bite but the aftertaste was a little green.
Fun facts about River Haze:
• Style: Hazy IPA.
• Price: Around $13 for what I think was a 6-pack of 12-ounce cans at the Ship and Shore in Dauphin Island, Alabama. The receipt does not include the name of each beer I bought, so it was $12.79, $14.59, or $12.19.
• Alcohol content: 6.2 percent ABV is noted on BA.
• The Foxy Lady and I started a list of things to remember the next time we go to Dauphin Island. One thing I added was to not buy craft beer at the Ship and Shore. It’s all too old. I bought a third pack of beer this year, something from the Braided River Brewing Company, and dumped it down the drain because it was way past its prime. The macro stuff is probably replenished much more often.
The Quiet Man’s grade: B+.
