Beer of the Weekend #710: London Homesick Ale
The Texas brew tonight is London Homesick Ale, brewed by the Oasis Texas Brewing Company of Austin, Texas.
The color is hazy gold. A finger of eggshell-colored head leaves a bubble- and foam-spotted skim and a thick ring around the edge. The aroma is very faint. I have to almost stick my nose in the beer to smell anything. Despite the faintness, there are scents of pale malt, light hop bitterness, and a hint of zest. The flavor is light as well, but the beer is more flavorful than aromatic. Present in the flavor are pale malt, light hop astringency (which slowly begins to work the taste buds), and light citrus. It has a smooth mouthfeel. As the beer warms, the bitterness and zest become more prominent. It is a nice, easy drinking session brew, though I am not sure why anyone would be homesick for it.
