Good Tunes: 3 Doors Down, 'Kryptonite'

Brad Arnold, the lead vocalist for 3 Doors Down, died over the weekend. As a tribute, I thought I would post “Kryptonite.”

This song was everywhere in early 2000. (It makes me think of spring and spring break that year, but Wikipedia notes that the release date was January 18, 2000.) Everywhere. And no one could get enough of it. It was a national obsession. Why? I don’t know. I thought it was a good song and liked it (still do), but I didn’t listen to it on repeat. That is what I vividly remember a group of younger students doing in the newslab at City High one day. It clearly spoke to people.

Amazingly, despite having heard the song a bajillion times since then, I had never seen the video until now. It’s sad and kind of scary.
