Beer of the Weekend #1,107: Crush Tangerine Wheat

The beer of the weekend last weekend was the last brew in the custom sixer I got for Christmas: Crush Tangerine Wheat, brewed by 5ive Cities Brewing of Bettendorf, Iowa.

Serving type: 16-ounce can. It is hard to make out, but it looks like “03-26-24” is printed on the bottom.

Appearance: Poured into a nonic. The color is akin to orange juice. A finger of off-white, thick head dissipated to a skim and thin collar while I was trying to find my phone to take a pic (d’oh!).

Smell: Citrusy sweet. Tangerine, wheat, syrup. It is sweet and refreshing.

Taste: It mostly mirrors the smell. It is sweet and citrusy. There are scents of tangerine and wheat but not much else.

• Style: BA classifies it as “fruit and field beer.”

• Price: Letting a Cyclone fan enjoy a Cyclone win at CHA.

• Alcohol content: 5.2 percent ABV.
