Beer of the Weekend #1,075: Trippin'

The beer of the weekend is Trippin’, brewed by the Dimensional Brewing Company of Dubuque, Iowa.

Trippin'

Serving type: 16-ounce can. No freshness date.

Appearance: Poured into a nonic pint glass. The color is medium gold. A finger and a half of buttery, eggshell-colored, bubbly head leaves a thick collar and trails of foam on the glass. I have to say that the pour was luscious and beautiful.

Smell: It is subtle but citrusy and hoppy. It is not bombastic or over the top. Grapefruit, mandarin orange, a touch of kiwi, and maybe some peach.

Taste: Subtle but smooth and very crushable. It is very much like the aroma with grapefruit, mandarin orange, kiwi, and a touch of peach.

Fun facts about Trippin’:

• Style: West Coast IPA.

• Price: $15.99 for a four-pack of 16-ounce cans at John’s Grocery in Iowa City.

• Alcohol content: 6.8 percent ABV.

• I really dig the label, especially the car. It looks like an Oldsmobile Cutlass (which I had to look up because I did not remember the name).

The Quiet Man’s grade: A-.
