Beer of the Weekend #1,127: Blueberry Lemonade Avalanche
The beer of the weekend a few weekends ago (on July 11, maybe; I’m behind) was Blueberry Lemonade Avalanche, brewed by the Contrary Brewing Company of Muscatine, Iowa.
Serving type: 16-ounce can. No freshness date.
Appearance: Poured a raspberry red color into a tulip glass. A red-tinted, thick, buttery, bubbly head dissipated very slowly.
Smell: Sweet-berry-lemonade goodness! Blueberry, raspberry, lemonade citrus, sugar. Tart and effervescent.
Taste: Tart with berries and lemon, though it has a bite that I can’t pin down. Coriander? It fades as the beer warms, though. Blueberries, raspberries, lemonade. It is tart and delicious!
Fun facts about BLA:

• Price: $16 for a 4-pack of 16-ounce cans at the Contrary Brewing Company taproom in Muscatine, Iowa.
