Beer of the Weekend #1,103: Turbo Reaper

The beer of the weekend is another IPA brewed by 3 Floyds Brewing in Munster, Indiana: Turbo Reaper.

Turbo Reaper

Serving type: 12-ounce can. “PKGD ON 11/08/24” is printed on the bottom.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is a nice gold. A finger and a half of fluffy, dense, bubbly, buttery marshmallow-colored head dissipates slowly and leaves a ton of lacing. (Hat tip to The Foxy Lady for suggesting marshmallow as a color.)

Smell: It is a nice mix of malt and hops. It has a solid caramel base, grapefruit, tangerine, orange, cream, honey, and biscuit.

Taste: It is maltier than I expected. There are flavors of toasted malt, honey, biscuit, grapefruit, orange, and cream. It is balanced and tasty. There is no hint of alcohol. It is an OG West Coast IPA. It is not super bitter but it has an adequate bite. It is a solid brew.

• Here is the description via the website and can: “Without warning, something's dawning as our latest West Coast-style IPA awaits your defenseless thirst. As colossal hop aromas ride in harmony with tropical and citrus notes, you better run for cover . . . There is no other.”
