Beer of the Weekend #954: Citra Sky

The beer of the weekend is Citra Sky, brewed by the Exile Brewing Company of Des Moines, Iowa.

Citra Sky

Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. “Born on 4/29/21” is written on the shoulder.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is hazy melted butter/light gold/yellow. A finger of off-white head dissipates quickly to a thin collar and a broken skim.

Smell: The aroma is light but citrusy and tropical. It is a pleasant blend of grapefruit, light mango, a touch of pineapple, and light earthy hops.

Taste: Much like the aroma: light, tropical, and pleasing. Grapefruit, mango, and pineapple are present. It has a pleasant earthiness and a bite that fades. It has that boozy Orange Julius character that some hazy IPAs have.
