Good Tunes: Sunflower Bean, "I Was a Fool" & Anna Burch, "Tea-Soaked Letter"
Here are two good tunes I discovered while browsing the related videos for Shame’s “Concrete”: “I Was a Fool” by Sunflower Bean and “Tea-Soaked Letter” by Anna Burch.
Much like “Concrete” evokes the sound of a different era, so do both of these songs. “I Was a Fool” harkens to seventies and eighties soft rock and reminds me a lot of Fleetwood Mac. (It reminds me of a specific song, but I’ve forgotten what it is. Grr! “Dreams” or “Gypsy” maybe.) It’s the type of song that is perfect for warm, sunny, carefree spring afternoons. “Tea-Soaked Letter” is catchy and very nineties; it sounds a lot like the type of indie pop played on college radio.
