Good Tunes: Deftones, 'Swerve City'

It’s been five years since this song was released? Holy cow.

“Swerve City” crossed my mind a week or so ago, and I was shocked that it’s been so long since it was released (and since I heard it last). I thought it was released two or three years ago—not five. I’m losing touch with the years, which is probably a consequence of getting older and working.

Regardless, “Swerve City” is a damn good tune, one that reminds me that I don’t own enough Deftones albums. I’ve mentioned in the past that I own only the re-release of White Pony, courtesy of Bobblehead cleaning house circa 2003. I love me some Deftones, but I’ve heard the band’s albums are like Star Trek motion pictures: only every other one is worthwhile. I need to test that myself, though.
