Beer of the Weekend #823: Session X Nugget

The beer of the weekend is Session X Nugget, brewed by the Iowa City Brewlab of Iowa City, Iowa.

The color is clear, clean, medium gold. A finger of beige, thick, bubbly head dissipates slowly, leaving lacing stuck to the glass and a bubbly skim. The aroma is light but spicy and herbal with scents of rye, light malt, caramel, and chocolate (oddly). The flavor is amazing. Wow! It’s spicy and herbal but is perfectly balanced so nothing is out of proportion. There are flavors of light malt, caramel, and vanilla. The spice does begin to provide a nice bite as the beer continues to warm. Wooo — this is good stuff!
