Gonzaga 87, Iowa 68

The Hawks were expertly dispatched by the Gonzaga Bulldogs tonight, ending another season of Iowa men’s basketball. It was a great season and perhaps I will write about it later. I have always wanted to write a post-season review and perhaps I will this time.

But what I want to say is that this will be the last time I post a game score and photo. I don’t feel like doing it anymore. Though the pictures are sometimes amazing — my appreciation for outstanding photography is one of the reasons I started posting game photos — the posts tend to be easy ways to inflate my post numbers and become a crutch to lean on when I become very unproductive, as I have recently. Not only is it also a hassle to find good photos, there is enough sports coverage both locally and nationally already. I won’t rule out posting scores and photos of big games, but I no longer plan to do it regularly, for entire seasons.

It’s been a good run.
