The Hawkeye men are finally 'mad again'

The above button has been pinned to my backpack since the start of the 2010-11 men’s basketball season, Fran McCaffery’s first at Iowa. “LBMA” stands for “Let’s Be Mad Again” (“mad” as in March Madness). It was McCaffery’s first marketing campaign and it has long been succeeded by similar messages. However, though each season’s theme has been different, the goal to be “mad” has remained. And the Hawks finally achieved it today.

A couple weeks ago, the pundits were penciling Iowa into the Final Four. However, the Hawks ended up in the First Four. After an eight season drought, I will take an eleven seed play-in game. I suppose they still could play their way to the Final Four, but they really need to turn things around to have any kind of shot.
