Iowa 70, Rutgers 63

Today was a good sports day for the Hawkeye State. Not only did UNI knock off Kansas (grr!), and the Iowa wrestlers capture yet another national crown, the Iowa women’s basketball team beat Rutgers in the first round of the women’s tourney. It is the first time Lisa Bluder has beaten former Iowa coach C. Vivian Stringer, and the first time the Hawkeye women have advanced to the second round of the tournament since 2002. (The last time the men did it was in 2001.)
