Hot off the Press: "I think the river is always that color" edition

Evangelical Christians are posing as Muslims or trying to engage in interfaith dialogue to proselyte Muslims for Christ, which is straining relations between the religions in places like Nigeria and Malaysia: http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/16/christian-soldiers/?hp.

Mark Twain: literary genius, horrible investor, and avid baseball fan: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/14/sports/baseball/14twain.html?ref=books.

NYC (North New Jersey, at least) now has a soccer specific stadium...and you can take the train there: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/21/sports/soccer/21vecsey.html?hp.

I stumbled on this great Chicago Tribune series, "Agent Orange: A Lethal Legacy." It features stories, photos, and other multimedia reports about Agent Orange and its lasting affects on the environment and those in contact with it: http://www.chicagotribune.com/health/agentorange/. I recently talked to someone who hadn't heard of Agent Orange before, which blew my mind, so I strongly recommend checking this out if you're unfamiliar with the subject. Nasty, nasty shit. My dad had prostate cancer linked to Agent Orange (he was stationed in Da Nang, where there is a lot of dioxin pollution), so it's a personal issue for me. It's the reason why I wonder whether or not I should ever have kids.

Marc Morehouse, a CRG sports writer, is apparently a big beer nut: http://gazetteonline.com/blogs/on-iowa/2010/03/20/beer-o-clock-7. My kind of guy.

Although the health care reforms passed by the House Sunday night are, in my opinion (from what I've been able to glean from the layman summaries of the thousand-or-so page bill), flawed, this NYT editorial sums it up well: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/22/opinion/22mon5.html?hp.

Good ol' Ralph Nader also does a good job of outline my qualms with the new reforms: http://roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/03/21/a-historic-moment-for-health-care/#ralph.
