#35: New York
My annual conference took place in New York City this year, so I paid my first visit to the Big Apple and Empire State last month.
It was fun. The Foxy Lady, Coop, Sis, and The Librarian joined me, so I was able to experience NYC with family. We checked off a lot of the typical touristy stuff, including a trip to the top of the Empire State Building. (The thought of doing it, and having done it, is much worse than doing it and being there. I do not like heights, but I was surprisingly nonchalant when I was up there, albeit a little unsteady because of the subtle movement of the building.) We hung out with The Grip and the rest of the NYC fam as well, so that was cool.
Though it was my first visit there, New York felt oddly familiar. I have seen all the sights countless times on TV and in movies, so the real-life versions felt very ordinary. It was a little weird.
So I am making a dent into one of those pesky corners...
