Beer of the Weekend #1,040: Legally Blond
The beer tonight is Legally Blond, brewed by the Gezellig Brewing Company of Newton, Iowa.
Serving type: 16-ounce can. “MIND YA BUSINESS 06/07/23” is printed on the bottom.
Appearance: Poured into a tulip. The color is deep gold. A finger of white head fizzled away quickly, almost before I could grab my phone to take a pic, leaving a handful of tiny bubbles on the surface in the center of the glass.
Smell: Fruity and spicy. Banana, cloves, apple, a hint of strawberry. The label mentions pear, but I don’t get it much in the aroma.
Taste: There’s the pear! It is very smooth and tasty. There are flavors of banana, apple, clove, and pear. The mouthfeel is a little watery and thin, but the flavor is there.
Fun facts about Legally Blond:
• Style: Belgian-style blond.
• Price: Unsure. It was part of my seasonal 12-pack.
• Alcohol content: 7 percent ABV.
The Quiet Man’s grade: B+.
