Beer of the Weekend #790: ReUnion Lager
While at the ReUnion Brewery to chat with the brewer yesterday, I filled my growler with the beer of the weekend — ReUnion’s fantastic Lager — while I was there.
The color is light, clear gold. Two fingers of dense, white, shiny, bubble-spotted head settles slowly and leaves a skim and ring around the edge. The aroma is a pleasing medley of light malt, grass, and herbal hops. There is a touch of lemon zest. The flavor is what real lager tastes like. There are flavors of light malt, grass, and herbal hops. It has a pleasing, spicy bite that lingers on the taste buds. It is simple but oh so tasty.
Fun facts about ReUnion Lager:
• Style: Helles.
• Price: $12 for a 64-ounce growler fill.
• Alcohol content: 5 percent ABV.
The Quiet Man’s grade: A-.
