Beer of the Weekend #674: Anna Belle's India Pale Ale

I want to get to 10 posts this month so I bought a can of Anna Belle’s India Pale Ale, brewed by the Galena Brewing Company of Galena, Illinois.

Anna Belle’s IPA pours a hazy, deepish amber into a pint glass. Two fingers of dense, bubbly, amber-tinted head dissipates very slowly. The aroma is sticky sweet and citrusy with scents of grapefruit, tangerine, kiwi, pine, orange, a little lemon, and caramel. The flavor is robust and surprisingly malty with a massive caramel foundation. The citrus and tropical fruit take a backseat and are fleetingly noticeable in the background until the beer warms quite a bit. A pleasing bitterness works the tastes buds and pine is also noticeable.
