Winter Storm Rocky
Winter Storm Rocky seemed to be the snow storm that did not end. Snow started falling in IC before midday on Tuesday and, despite a number of pauses, did not stop until this morning. The storm continued to turn into itself for 36 hours or so, and I could not believe it when I saw scattered flakes still falling this morning.
The results? Fairly minimal. Much of the snow melted on impact yesterday, especially on the roadways, but there was about two inches of accumulation Tuesday.
Spring is, no doubt, right around the corner, so this may be the last significant snow we receive until later this year. Enjoy it. The sad thing is it offers little relief to the ongoing drought since the ground is frozen as hard as concrete. Any melt will run off into creeks and rivers (which is also a good thing since it recharges them).
