The Bookworm: I'll get to it — eventually
It has been well over two months since I finished Michael Perry’s Coop. Since then, I have slowly and steadily chipped away at Richard J. Evans’ second volume of everything Third Reich. It is a monster, and after all that time my bookmark is between pages 388 and 389 — just over halfway through the main text.
Though reading is not a race, I cannot help feeling pathetic about taking so long to plow through The Third Reich in Power. It’s a fascinating book, but the time I dedicate to reading is not as much as it used to be. Plus, it does not help that the text is miniscule. Though it is much easier on the eyes than that piece of shit Barnes & Noble Classics version of The Jungle, it takes me two hours to read 30 pages.
I have always preferred to read one book at a time, but I may break that personal policy. As a matter of fact, I guess I already have. I started reading Mosher’s Tasting Beer since it is packed with more than just cool infographics (I think it is imperative that I actually read it at some point), and I am getting too eager to wait another two months to reread the next book in my queue. I may start it early, but that will just take time away from the task at hand.
I’ll finish it — eventually.
