The Novel Diary: Week 7
Word counts: 2,929 (Chapter Two); 15,559 (total).
Tonight I gave an inspired, 696-word effort — the best so far for Chapter 2. (I think the best night I had for Chapter 1 was the last night: 776 words. It was a very eerie coincidence since I was writing about the Fourth of July.) I am amazed I wrote that much given how distracted I was for part of it.
Though I set aside two hours each night for writing I do not write constantly. God, I wish I did. What I do instead is periodically check email, check the news, and find other distractions. Like this:
Yeah. Pilotwings for the Super Nintendo. Do not ask me how I stumbled on it, but it brought back memories of renting it when I was a kid. With distractions like that (especially the commentary) it is a wonder I have been able to write at all.
