Beer of the Weekend #99: Alleycat Amber Ale

The beer this weekend is Alleycat Amber Ale brewed by the Lost Coast Brewery of Eureka, California.
Serving type: Six 12-ounce bottles. No freshness or born-on date.
Appearance: Poured a light copper. Two fingers of thick, off-white head developed and dissipated slowly to leave a spotted lacing and thick ring around the edge.
Smell: Spicy at first, with a cinnamon and pine blast. Then it mellows to caramel and tangerine citrus.
Taste: Thankfully, the spice from the smell is nonexistent, but the caramel and tangerine citrus is prevalent. There’s a nice little hop bite at the end that is well balanced with the malts.
Drinkability: Decent and tasty brew, and very drinkable.

-Serving temperature: 45-50ºF.
-Alcohol content: 5.5 percent ABV.
-Food pairings: BA recommends sharp cheeses like Blue and Cheddar, and meat.
