Politics and beer
I came across this article a month ago: "Obama woos blue collar voters with beer taste."
Yep. Barack Obama drinks PBR.
Well, at least he drank a PBR for this photo op. Politicians are wealthy and elitist, so I assume they prefer wine. (Wine's not my thing, if you couldn't tell. Wine and beer enthusiasts battle back and forth over which is more complex, which is better. If I wanted I could take my pot shots at wine but I'm not. People can drink what they want. Let wine drinkers drink wine. More beer for me.) I'm pretty sure neither Obama or John McCain — nor most members of congress, I bet — regularly drink PBR, so it's important to realize it was just a publicity stunt.
What does that say about our elected officials, about America, when candidates seemingly stoop to our level to impress us?
I will say this, though: At least he wasn't drinking a Bud.
