Beer of the Weekend #1,089: Badass Warrior Goddess

I enjoyed a mid-week beer again: Badass Warrior Goddess, brewed by Ursa Minor Brewing of Duluth, Minnesota.

Badass Warrior Goddess on Lake Superior

Two badass warrior goddesses

The Foxy Lady is the one who picked the beer, mostly because of the name. (She is also partial to hazy IPAs.) She also wanted me to use the above pics, which were taken on the shore of Lake Superior. It does not include the beer in the glass, so here is the usual pic:

Serving type: 16-ounce can. “CANNED ON 06/27/24” is printed on the bottom.

Appearance: BWG pours a hazy dirty gold into a nonic pint glass. One and a half fingers of dense, bubbly, buttery head settles slowly, leaving short trails along the glass.

Smell: Very aromatic. Floral and tropical. Pineapple, kiwi, cara cara orange, and mango. It is like a Tropical Punch but with yeast and pineapple.

Taste: Tropical goodness. Delish! Pineapple, mango, yeast, floral hops, a tough of peach, light berry, and cara cara orange. It is smooth and amazing.

Fun facts about BWG:

• Style: Hazy IPA.

• Price: $16.29 for a four-pack of 16-ounce cans at the Shanty Bottle Shop 2.0 in Duluth, Minnesota.

• Alcohol content: 6.2 percent ABV.

• IBU: 30.

• Duluth is an interesting place. It reminds me of Santa Cruz in a number of ways. Not only is it hippie ghetto, there are lots of evergreen trees, it is next to a big body of water, and the roads are pretty bad.

The Quiet Man’s grade: A+.
