Good Tunes: Foo Fighters, 'Everlong'

It’s Tuesday and my birthday, so I thought I would feature one of my all-time favorite songs on Good Tunes: “Everlong” by the Foo Fighters.

Why “Everlong”? Well, the music video is amazing and among my favorites. (Making a list of my all-time favorite music videos would be fun and interesting.) The eighties punk party, the big hand, the band members playing the characters (I love the massive sideburns on the Teddy Boys), the Evil Dead parody, the psychedelic effects at the end—it’s a good time! It’s a good tune, too, probably the first I ever heard from the Foo Fighters. The song and video were released when I started high school and began listening to hard rock, so it makes me think of new beginnings and discovery. And autumn. It makes me think of October and November, the time I first heard it.
