Good Tunes: Missing Persons, 'Destination Unknown' and 'Words (Extended Mix)'

Good Tunes features a double dose of Missing Persons this week.

First is a “live” version of “Destination Unknown” broadcast on a Dutch pop music show. (Here’s the TopPop upload, which features marginally better picture quality but really weird and annoying audio.) I say “live” because it’s obviously the studio version and everyone is lip syncing ... which brings up a good question: How does one play drums for a song that’s being lip synced? You would need to play convincingly but still hear the song to keep pace. Of course, that may not be a problem if you’ve played the song hundreds of times.

The second song is an extended mix of “Words,” which is surprisingly good. (Here is the original version.) I love how the driving beat is much more prominent.
