Good Tunes: Archers of Loaf, 'Harnessed in Slums'

Bingo riot!

If you watch enough Superchunk music videos on YouTube, Archers of Loaf songs will pop up in the list of recommended videos. (Archers of Loaf were signed with Merge Records, which was cofounded by members of Superchunk.) Having never heard of the band, I clicked on the video for “Harnessed in Slums” and was pleasantly surprised.

Post grunge! However, I’m not sure if the band would consider itself post-grunge or not. It does have that mid-‘90s indie rock sound that tickles me in the right place.
