Beer of the Weekend #589: Stone Go To IPA

Ouch. Slow week for blogging. Thank God it’s Friday!

The beer of the weekend is Go To IPA, brewed by the Stone Brewing Company of Escondido, California.

Serving type: 12-ounce bottle. “ENJOY BY 09/11/14” is written on the shoulder.

Appearance: Poured into a pint glass. The color is clear gold. One finger of eggshell-colored head dissipates slowly.

Smell: It is bursting with hop citrus and tropical fruit. Woooooo! Lots of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, and pineapple. There are also a lot of earthy hops and pine. Lots of hops!

Taste: Nice, creamy, light, and citrusy. Grapefruit, tangerine, orange, mango, pineapple, and earthy hops. There is a good dose of pine at the end, and the bitterness really works the taste buds.

Drinkability: Well, this is a very worthy “go to” IPA. Period. Lots of flavor, lower ABV. This is a very good session beer.
