Helmet sticker for Tyler Nielsen
It was a crazy day of college football. So crazy, in fact, I actually watched ESPN’s College Football Final for the first time, probably, since I moved back from California. Thus, I got to see the helmet sticker awards and — surprise, surprise — Lou Holtz gave one of his two stickers to Hawkeye Tyler Nielsen.
Despite having gone to the game, I did not realize how beastly Nielsen was for the Hawkeye defense. He apparently had 13 tackles. Even more pivotal was his pressure on Denard Robinson, forcing and then recovering a fumble. (Technically, I do not think he forced it since ol’ Shoelace put it on the ground.)
Congrats, Nielsen. Keep up the good work next week against the Spartans.
