The Novel Diary: Week 9
Word counts: 6,282 (Chapter 2); 18,884 (total).
Greetings from the forty-sixth floor of the Sheraton New Orleans. Insane, huh? Academics sure know how to rack up expenses.
Here’s the bad news: I am sick as a dog. After a circuitous shuttle ride from the airport (I thought the roads in the Midwest were bad — holy shit), I checked into my room around 2:30 and have been here ever since. The DayQuil I took in Chicago has worn off and I am burning up; I have heat escaping from every pore and orifice, including my eyes. The only thing I have done is walk to the CVS a couple blocks north on Canal Street and bought Tylenol PM.
Though I am technically working this week, it is spring break for novel writing. I am taking the whole week off, so there will be no production.
