Beer of the Weekend #691: Woolly Bugger

I drank and made notes on Woolly Bugger, brewed by the Madhouse Brewing Company of Des Moines, Iowa, last Friday night but decided to write a post later.

The color is lightly hazy, medium amber. About two fingers of buttery, eggshell-colored head leaves an even skim and a short trail of foam. The aroma is citrusy with tropical fruit. Grapefruit and kiwi seem prominent, and there is a hint of lemon. The flavor is much the same, though the tropical fruit is not as prominent and there is a nice bitterness that tickles the taste buds. The mouthfeel is full and creamy, and the bitterness is zesty. There are flavors of grapefruit, kiwi, lemon zest, light malt, and caramel.
